Skills for Industry
| Ministry of Social Developement

Joy Business Academy, alongside the Ministry of Social Development, launched the Skills for Industry learning experiences for job seekers and employers to boost employment and fill skill shortage gaps in industry now and into the future.

Skills for Industry is a virtual-reality, job-site training and assessment experience that enables a cooperative experience for the learner.

Scenarios in the game are designed to provide engaging, industry-specific learning experiences to teach and validate the skills for the future workforce. In-game metrics and voice feedback provides employers with valuable insights to assess job seekers skills that are required to succeed, such as teamwork, critical thinking and enthusiasm. The scenarios are multiplayer, allowing for rich communication and feedback from both players and the assessor to improve performance on the task.

Job seekers get introduced to entry-level jobs in an industry of interest through the medium of VR that presents the simulation as life-like as possible. Job seekers can then determine whether a career in a given industry is for them.
